Leaning into her passion for making a difference, Linda diverged from a successful career in business to become a psychotherapist. Her mid-life career transition brought her purpose into view and she formed Linda K. Reeves Therapy in order to help others discover their authentic selves and live content and healthy lives.

Linda holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in LGBT-Affirmative Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from San Diego State University. Her training began at the Los Angeles LGBT Center where she attained clinical skills in the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-binary, questioning, and queer identified individuals and couples and conducted group therapy.

Eager to understand more about the unique challenges faced by gender diverse individuals, Linda completed the WPATH Global Education Initiative (GEI) Certified Training Course: Best Practices in Transgender Medical and Mental Health Care and attained WPATH SOC-8 GEI Certification. Through her work with transgender and gender non-binary identified clients, Linda has supported hundreds of family members and loved ones who are also moving through their own transition. Her understanding of these unique challenges is the focus of a book she is writing for parents of transgender children.

Linda is the proud mother of a gay son, and is a passionate LGBTQ ally. In addition to her private practice, Linda is a Professor of Continuing Education courses at Antioch University. She also engages with parents, families and adolescents as Co-Founder and Board Member of PFLAG Manhattan Beach / South Bay, and is a member of the Beach Cities Health District Adolescent Task Force. Linda is also a Co-Founder of the Prism Institute, a full-service training organization that specializes in increasing awareness of LGBTQ+ issues. The Prism Institute works with medical and mental health providers, schools and other academic entities, local governments, law enforcement agencies and other civic organizations providing customized trainings and other critical information unique to the LGBTQ+ community.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE: You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
